Centuries by K. Om Nitin (133, 155b, 25×4) and M. Anush (101) powered City II to 334 for nine against City IV on the first day in the TNCA round-robin under-16 cricket tournament on Saturday.

Thiruvallur  lifts trophy

Thiruvallur DCA won the Dicky Memorial Trophy under-14 tournament defeating FSCA by 65 runs here on Saturday. K. Nirmal Kumar and Kiran Karthikeyan starred with the bat and ball respectively for TDCA.

Vijay surprises Dilip

Vijay Nichani of Coimbatore knocked higher seeded Dilip Kumar out of the tournament in the N. Manimaran & Kishan Kothari Memorial SVS Club open snooker championship on Saturday.

A brace by Mangalenthang Kipgen helped FC Madras defeat FC Goa 2-1 in its last group-D match in the final round of the Hero sub-junior under-13 league at Goa on Saturday.

Cricket trials

The Harrington Cricket Academy and Sacred Heart MHSS will be jointly organising a State-level U-12 tournament for coaching academies and clubs.
